Ohio Deadlift Bar

The Rogue Ohio Deadlift Bar is one of our finest, precision-engineered power bars to date, generating a higher amount of flex ideal for deadlifting. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the ODB features a 190,000 PSI shaft with a comparatively thin diameter (27mm) and longer overall length (90.5” – just within most powerlifting federation standards). This combination creates a bar that’s both easier to grip and designed for increased whip/flex when pulling. For many power lifters, that greater flex means being able to pull from a higher point before the plates break off the floor, potentially increasing the amount of weight that can be lifted in the process.

Like all Rogue bushing bars, the Ohio Deadlift Bar includes sleeves with a quality snap ring construction-- far superior to the cheaply produced bolt-and-pin style sleeves of some other brands. The powerlifting knurl marks on this bar are a bit deeper / more aggressive than our Ohio Power Bar, but machined in the same pattern. There is no center knurl.

Please Note: Like any fine piece of machined steel, a bare steel barbell will require some upkeep. Occasionally brushing the bar down with 3-in-1 oil or WD-40 will create a beautiful patina look. This is how bars were made for decades and it really does produce an unmatched feel.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Knurl. Ohio DL Bar >>> OKIE DL Bar Had this bar for a couple weeks now and pulled 600lbs on it. I also own an OKIE DL Bar. No comparison as far as quality, the Ohio DL Bar is far better. I think the whip and performance is very similar but the knurling on the Rogue bar is perfection. It has great grip and doesn't have the sharp, painful knurl of the OKIE...Rogue nailed it. Additionally, the fit and finish of the Rogue bar is top notch as you would expect... The OKIE bar looks like it was built in a garage somewhere...not good. If you are considering an OKIE DL Bar vs an Ohio DL Bar, don't waste your money on the OKIE. Go with the Rogue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bar! Bar was delivered Wednesday. Folks at UPS beat the end of the package so severely the metal plug almost came out. I assume it spent a good amount of time on its end even though there was a sticker clearly affixed stating not to..... Bar looks to be GTG regardless of UPS efforts. Straight, clean, bare metal, sticky grip, spin is lackluster but got a little bit better with todays first use....not that I expected it to be as it is a deadlift bar. It starts to get a whip north of 250. Very happy with my purchase, wife likes it too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent DL Bar I have owned this for a few months now and I love it. The knurling is fairly aggressive - it won't exactly rip your hands open but you are not going to drop the bar either. It's just right for my personal taste. The whip is excellent and it makes a big difference when things start getting heavy. Deadlifting on this compared to a general purpose or power bar is quite different in a good way. The whip almost takes you by surprise. Slightly smaller diameter is noticeable and appreciated. This bar feels great in hand with heavy loads. Buy it, you'll love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whip it, whip it good! I'm a 170 lb intermediate lifter in my mid 40's and focusing more this year on strength gains in the big three lifts and pursuing a 500 lb deadlift. I don't know if this bar will make that number easier to attain with the flex/whip at those weights, but it sure brings a level of excitement and satisfaction to use on deadlift day! Quality is top notch and the knurling is absolutely perfect in my mind. Agressive, but doesn't tear up my hands. The smaller diameter does seem to allow for better grip, but I can't completely decide whether it's the diameter or knurling that helps me. I've never struggled with grip problems with a standard bar either. Overall I'm excited every time I get to use this bar. Get one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another fine addition to the Rogue line-up. I've never been disappointed with a barbell purchase from Rogue Fitness, and the Ohio Deadlift bar is no exception. Fit and finish is what you'd come to expect, I got the raw version of this barbell so the finish is what it is, but I would expect the zinc version to be of typical Rogue quality. Knurling is definitely on the aggressive side, akin to the Rogue Ohio Power bar, and machined perfectly with no errors in the crosshatching. Sleeves spin remarkably well, if you ever wanted to clean with this bar (which I don't recommend), you could. The flex is insane; though I've never used any other deadlift bars before. Picking weight up never felt so easy. In my video I jump from 225-315-405-455 without anything in between and it performed smooth as butter. My normal deadlift 1RM is 535 on a standard barbell, I can't wait to see what I can pull on this bar. If you're serious about deadlifting, I can't see why you wouldn't want this bar. Granted the usability is slightly limited, but like I said, I'm sure cleans on this bar would be a blast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I thought it would be On my heavier lifts I have defaulted to an alternated grip (I have weak grip strength). I read here on some of the reviews that the knurling was "aggressive." I was hoping that the knurling on this bar would allow me to use a pronated grip since its just more comfortable for me. As I thought, it has. I'm able to hold the grip on heavier sets except for the last one. I'll have to work on my grip to get me over. I am very happy with this bar. Also, it just looks cool with some plates on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deadlifts feel right!! Right off the bat, this bar is as expected. I was a little hesitant at first about buying a dedicated DL bar but after performing just one set I'm completely sold. I've been using the OPB in the 5/3/1 program and it's great for everything, but DLs never really felt right. The ODLB with its flex and smaller diameter allow for a better positioning and hold. I'm really able to settle in before the lift. The bar has a nice balance of flex without being overly whippy. The knurling seems to be slightly more aggressive than the OPB, but it could be because of the raw finish (my OPB is coated). Build quality is as expected with Rogue. Fit and finish is top tier. The only complaint I can think of is it's setup for conventional lifter. If you sumo DL than expect your shins to get beat up a little if you don't wear some sort of sock. Still a 5 star product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grip and flex I bought this bar, and was very happy that it shipped from the USA and arrived in England within 5 days. I did a quick warmup and began the testing. Knurling is aggressive but left the hands relatively undamaged even at 200kg. Bar bend is good, and very useful for locking yourself in before a big pull. Finish and quality is brilliant, so much so that I had my gym in the UAE order one for me to use whilst out there working. Excellent bar.
