Emma Lawson

Rogue athlete Emma Lawson was just a baby when the first CrossFit Games took place in 2007. Now, as one of the sport’s brightest young stars, she represents a generation that literally grew up with CrossFit and looks poised to push the level of competition even higher in the years ahead.

Emma first gained wide attention after winning the “Fittest Teen on Earth” title at the 2021 CrossFit Games. She broke through to the adult stage in 2022 with a strong debut at the Women’s Individual Competition in Madison, finishing 6th overall. Along the way, she earned Rookie of the Year honors, finished Top 5 in four of the first seven events, and became the youngest competitor ever to wear the white “leader” jersey.

Since then, Lawson’s career has been a whirlwind of milestones, including a memorable 3rd place podium finish at the 2023 Rogue Invitational and several defining personal moments like celebrating her 18th birthday and graduating high school. At the 2023 CrossFit Games, she showcased impressive maturity and strength by leading the competition for much of the week, winning two events outright and ultimately securing second place, just 47 points behind champion Laura Horvath.

Balancing the demands of early adulthood with the rigors of elite competition, Emma draws inspiration from her parents, coach, and role models like Tia-Clair Toomey. With a growing fanbase, Lawson’s focus remains firmly on what’s next — whether that’s new personal challenges or the quest to become CrossFit’s next great women’s champion.
