Rogue TB-2 Trap Bar

Rogue TB-2 Trap Bar

With the TB-2, we've completely overhauled the original Rogue Trap Bar with a more versatile dual-handle design, SCH 80 pipe Olympic sleeves, and a 25% reduction in weight.

The TB-2 Trap Bar is manufactured in the USA and features a durable hexagonal frame welded from 1.5” square steel tubing. Both sets of knurled, parallel handles measure 1.34” in diameter and are spaced 25” on center. During a workout, an athlete can easily switch from one set of handles to the other simply by flipping the bar over. This makes the TB-2 advantageous for strengthening the lockout, overloading on shrugs, and/or limiting shoulder stress during bench presses. It also enables beginners or rehabbing athletes to focus on their range of motion or gradually develop a deadlift program without putting as much pressure on the lower back.

PLEASE NOTE: Because the TB-2 Trap Bar is finished in our Rogue signature black powder coat, any metal-to-metal contact with the coated sleeves (such as adding and/or removing plates) may cause wear on the finish over time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Important Convenient Feature This is a great trap bar. It gives the user the option of using two different types of handles. However, the most important feature for me is that gives adequate space, before the area that holds the plates, to rest the bar on stands. At the age of 68, with all sorts of injuries and surgeries, I can only do partial trap bar deadlift/squats. I have to initiate the movement from a height of two feet. This means that I need to place it on spotter stands. This is the only trap bar available for sale that I found that has enough space, before the plate holding area begins, to rest the bar on elevated stands, or on the safety pins of a power rack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Bar for Rebuilding Deadlifts are my favorite lift. There is nothing more satisfying then pulling a huge pile of weights off the ground. Unfortunately, late last year, I extruded a disc. I tried to do the PT route and rehab around it, but ended up having to have surgery. After the required rest period, I was slowly rebuilding my lifts with my Ohio Deadlift Bar. I had looked at getting a Trap Bar for some time before the injury, but hadn't ever pulled the trigger. My wife surprised me with this bar last night at the gym, so I did a few sets. I can't express how much better I felt lifting heavy with this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great trapbar, but a little disappointed I needed a heavy duty trapbar, and preferably one that I can set on the j-cups of my power rack. This one seemed to fit the bill perfectly, but when I received it and tried to rack dice. The bar is too wide, unfortunately. It’s still an indestructible piece of equipment, same as anything else with the rogue name on it. But it’s a shame I can’t rack it, as I intended to use it for more than just deadlifts. Theres a good chance I missed it, but incase it isn’t listed on the website in text, I would recommend rogue add the rackable width of the bar on the pictures so future customers dont make the same mistake.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't Need It. I Just Wanted It. I had been considering getting the TB-2 Trap Bar for over a year. I didn't necessarily need it for my garage gym, but certainly kept thinking about it. (I needed to answer the question, "Where are you going to store that?") Exceeded my expectations. The bar is built to handle a lot more iron than I'll ever try and a outstanding alternative to traditional deadlifts. Besides deadlifts, there's several other exercises you can do with this bar (if you need more convincing.) Having two different handle heights is worth the money. I'm 5'8" and the handle spacing from center works just fine. Get the Dead Wedge as well--your back will thank you. Overall, very pleased with this Rogue TB-2 Trap Bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality and usability I've had my TB-2 for a few months now and I'm a big fan of it. Whether using the high or low handle options, it's a great change from traditional straight bar deadlifts by putting a ton less stress on your lower back. My coach (being the evil SOB he is) has had me mix in some low handle deadlifts with these while wearing my Romaleos. This because a very knee-friendly quad exercise... I mean, it's not friendly on any of the rest of you as these are hard as heck, but nice option to mix into your training arsenal. Regardless of lift, it's an excellent piece of equipment, extremely well made and stands up very nicely to whatever I throw at it. One thing to know - this will come in a large box and strapped to a very large wooden pallet (around 4' x 8'), delivered freight. Just something to be aware of in terms of needing to be home for shipment and also figuring out what the heck to do with that pallet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for young and old(er) alike. When my teenage daughter told me we needed a trap bar for the garage gym it brought a tear to my eye. At first I looked at cheaper options but soon realized I needed something with a bigger load capacity (we have bumper plates) if I was going to use it too. Super glad I got the Rogue bar. Much easier on my aging shoulders. My daughter loves it. Outstanding quality. Built like a tank. Totally worth the money in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! You definitely get what you pay for! Mine arrived quickly, even after a 7-10 business day backorder. There was a decent scuff mark on the top handle from what looked like metal on metal contact but I was able to rub most of it off. The knurling is aggressive but feels great in my hands. I have yet to flip it over and use the underside handles but have used the top handles for deadlifts, shrugs, and farmer walks which all feel great. Very happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s Perfect! I’m recovering from a stroke and it does everything I need in the “deadlifts” & “rows”. Very pleased with the purchase and quality. This is a “monster” bar!
