Rogue Safety Squat Bar doesn't make squatting any easier.

The weight distribution is unique to this bar. Training with the Rogue Safety Squat bar is known to tax your anterior chain; the weight distribution falls between the front squat and the high-bar back squat to vary your power output training. This bar is a safer option for intense squat progressions or maximum load lifts. This bar is known to increase your maximum working weight when compared to the traditional back squat.

SB-1 - Rogue Safety Squat Bar is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Squatting again and loving it! Poor shoulder mobility put a damper on squatting for me as I had to have my hands all the way out by the weight, which always made me afraid of smashing my fingers when re-racking the weight. Can't remember the last time I squatted any kind of weight....even up to 185. Now, back at it and my legs are loving it, and no discomfort or hand worry in moving up quickly in weight. Love it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The One Reason You Should NOT buy! Aside from the bars ONE lagging area, this bar is made almost better than any other standard safety squat bar on the market. The construction is exactly what we have all come to know, love and expect from rogue, great welding, great powder coat, looks great and functions really well. The angle of the handles is as good as you will see anywhere and the camber in the bar itself is spot on, for a standard SSB. WIth all that said, there is one single reason why I would look elsewhere, at least for now. The Padding! Its shockingly poor quality and very thin. I have had my bar for only a little while, and the padding has completely torn through in all areas, and even before that, the delts and traps could REALLY feel the weight of whatever is on the bar. Rogue are almost always the most researched and tested brands, which is why almost everything they make is second to none on quality, functionality and look. Not in this case, however. How they decided to make such poor padding is beyond me, and others. With other SSBs such as the Elite FTS SS YOKE bar and the new Kabuki Strength Transformer bar, you would think a company like Rogue would researched the padding a little more. Especially given the athletes they sponsor, such as Brian Shaw, who uses the SS YOKE in his training. To go with that, Rogue make the very BEST bench pad you can buy, the Thompson Fat Pad, which makes me wonder why they didnt use the same sorta upholstery and padding in the safety squat bar as is in that. Perhaps they have a new model coming?? Anyway, until they can fix this issue, I would seriously consider either the elite fts or kabuki strength one, however, if this issue can be resolved by Rogue, this would then be the SSB I would go for. Very disappointed in Rogue on this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cured Shoulder Pain Amazing bar all around EXCEPT for one thing. The padding could be of higher quality. Especially for how badass the rest of the bar is. If I could I would’ve given the bar a 4.9 out of 5. But stuck giving it a 4.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bar for shoulder injury! I bought this bar due to 3 tears in my shoulder and I was missed doing my squats. Now I can do squats with this bar due to the different hand position were on reguar bar I can not get my arm to hold the bar. I would recommend this bar for any gym or personal use due to injury.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Challenging Use this at my gym, by far one of the most taxing squat routines I've ever done. It takes a couple of steps to get the balance right, however once that happens this is a phenomenal piece of equipment

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quickly becoming my Squat Bar of Choice After a few weeks of use, this is a fantastic squat bar. High bar squats have been problematic due to old neck and head injuries but this bar removes all of those problems. My technique has improved greatly as a result. The exercise arsenal is growing as I learn to use it for good mornings, single leg squats etc, my quads are lett8ng me know that they are getting a much better workout now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Squats were meant to be done with this bar! This is the absolute perfect bar to use for squats for anyone with any shoulder/neck issue. My right shoulder socket is busted limiting my range of motion significantly and i was always limited to front squats with barbells or the smith machine rear squat (which is really a no-no anyway). That is, until I noticed the Safety Squat Bar by Rogue and it is perfect from every angle. The bar is solid and I am sure as a result will be very durable, it looks great on my power rack, the padding for the neck and shoulders is perfect and any tension on my shoulders is entirely removed thanks to the location of the grips (in front and below shoulder height) and I can squat again normally! This is a must have for people with any shoulder or neck issues and has become a life saver for me. A friend of mine with no shoulder issues, who does not like squats with barbells due to his perceived sense of pressure it puts on his neck absolutely loves this bar and insists on using it when he comes over to my home gym. Mark Bell's video on how to get under the bar and using it for box squats is also very nice. All the speciality bars from Rogue don't need special collars either - so thats great. Minor gripe about some of the Rogue products is the paint does begin to peel over time, but I don't think this is unexpected when you have solid steel underneath. All in all, i give this bar 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Actually Allowed Me To Squat Again !! I'm 45 have had back problems, abdominal surgeries , and a knee that's due for social security. Oh yeah, I have a torn tendon my rotator cuff. Guess what, I can squat nice and deep with no pain. No belt either. I have to say I'll be buying one of these on the near future so no leg day will be without this bar. If making a home gym, this is a MUST HAVE.
