Ohio made heavy duty belt

The Rogue Ohio Lifting Belt is hand-crafted not to compete with the world of mass-produced, sporting-goods-store weightlifting belts, but to offer a stronger, longer-lasting alternative for customers serious about strength training and investing for the long haul.

One of the distinguishing features of the Rogue Ohio Lifting Belt is its vegetable tanned leather. Derived from the all-natural cowboy method of tanning hides, the vegetable tanning process can take weeks to complete, versus the mere hours of modern sole tanning. The reward for this painstaking effort, however, is a firm, ultra-durable, water-resistant leather weight belt with a rich, natural brown tone. The vegetable tanning process means you'll receive a belt with a softer feel that is just as strong as the rest, with a break-in time that is nearly nonexistent.

Because it bears the Rogue name, it goes without saying that this leather lifting belt is also Made in the USA and optimized for convenience, with a single-buckle design for quick, easy adjustments. Thickness may vary from belt to belt due to the properties of leather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ridiculous Quality, size was exact First thing's first and that's sizing. You NEED to measure yourself to order a belt correctly! I wear 32x30 pants and measured 35" where I wear my lift belt. You CANNOT order the belt by your shirt size alone! I wear medium shirts 95% of the time and was nervous buying the Large belt (I just measured the belt out of the box and it runs big, tightest = 28", loosest =38" ). Save yourself a headache when ordering this beauty and take the time to measure yourself! Ridiculous quality, couldn't be happier . Fitment is as close to perfect as I expected, I notched it at the 5th hole of 10 so I have room either way on the belt. Couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality belt Bought this 6 months ago and it's a nice luxury to have when starting to lift heavy. Mainly use for back squat but fits the waist well. Just flexible enough without being to stiff. Pretty waist conforming out of the bag. This is the only belt I've used besides cheap gym ones, if you have been using them making the switch to your own belt will not be a disappointment. Only thing I would add is to learn how to correctly use a belt once you purchase this and use it to brace your core against not hold you gut in. Had the belt for a few months before I started to harness its full potential. One purchase you won't regret feel like it will last a lifetime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeds expectations!!! I just received my two powerlifting belts (10 & 13mm) and just had to send you a note to tell you how AMAZING these belts are! Worth every penny ( and I think inexpensive for the quality you get.). The 13mm-thick belt has to be the most substantial belt I have ever seen, and I love the sound it makes as the different layers creak and flex. There are thousands of less expensive alternatives to be found on the internet, but when you're ready for the good stuff, THIS IS IT!! It will impress from the moment you take it out of the box. Thank you guys for making such an awesome product, and restoring my faith in buying American-made products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best belt I've ever used This belt is made of high quality leather that I know I could keep for the next 20 years or more. It has a suprisingly quick break in time (I curled it up and put a dumbbell on top of it overnight a couple times). The sizes run accurate, you have to measure around your belly button not your waist. You have to wear it with the buckle in the middle (like in the picture). It's durability is great for really heavy squats and deadlifts. It's pretty expensive for a weightlifting belt but the quality of it when you first feel it you can tell it was made from high quality leather and totally worth it. You pay for what you get.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent belt Not a bad belt. I've seen some complaints about how it's not one solid piece of leather. That's because no cattle have 10mm thick hides, so it's two 5mm pieces stitched together. The edges and corners have been trimmed at an angle to take the bite out of it and make it feel more broken in. This is a good solid belt that will last a long time. It is not, however, a 5 star one time purchase belt. The two sides of the belt are stitched but not also glued. The leather is soft and the holes give quite a bit under stress. The edges are unburnished and will allow moisture damage. The inner piece of leather ends at the buckle, and there is no mention of a lifetime warranty. This is a solid belt but not intended to last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of gear I originally bought the Rogue Echo belt because it cost half of what this belt did. After owning the Echo belt for a few months I started having some issues with it. I emailed Rogue about it and Patrick was extremely helpful if getting things resolved. I opted to pay the difference and get the Ohio lifting belt and all I can say is it is a night and day difference in quality and comfort. Every detail of the Ohio belt is awesome. Great stitching, the roller on the buckle is smooth and seamless, the leather is soft but supportive - I wish I bought this belt to start with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great belt This belt arrived today, and I am very pleased with it. It is flexible and feels fully broken in right out of the box, but the thickness and width make it feel very sturdy. The leather is soft and the hardware seems strong. The only quality issue is that the spacing between the stitching and the edge of the belt isn't consistent near the rounded end of the belt (not the buckle end) and doesn't line up quite right, but this doesn't appear to be something that will impact strength or durability. I didn't measure around my stomach where I wear a lifting belt, but I weigh 220 with a 33-inch waist and the large is the right size. There are 10 holes, and the fourth hole is a good tight fit. Could cinch it down to the fifth hole if I wanted a very tight fit. Looking forward to my next squat day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great belt IMHO I have just started using a belt for last year while doing linear progression barbell work per Rippetoe's Starting Strength. My first belt was very flexible, but thin (5mm), and I didn't realize that thicker belts offered more support. As the weights started to get heavy, particularly for squat, I started thinking that a better belt was in order. I am a fan of Rogue products and so I was happy that they had a few offerings. This belt is well made, thick and stiff, but it does work in quickly, and it will ride better after a few workouts. The stability improvement is noticeable and I am glad I upgraded. I think you will not be disappointed with this belt. Highly recommended.
