Rogue Butcher V2

The redesigned Rogue Butcher is the ultimate all-surface, heavy-duty push sled. Co-developed with the team at Westside Barbell, the American-built Butcher combines 74 LBS of 2x3” 11-gauge steel with a wide range of functional improvements over most traditional weight sleds. This includes a black powder coating for a better grip, low and high angle hand placement options, and removable weight-bearing bars for easier storage.

Version 2.0 of the Butcher also comes with bolt-on feet, which can be removed and replaced with a new set if damaged. These feet can additionally be equipped with optional 0.5" thick UHMW plastic skis to protect your gym’s flooring.

Key Features of the Rogue Butcher 2.0:

  • 1High & Low Angle Push Handles

The Butcher’s design makes it adaptable to any athlete, whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned pro, or rehabbing from an injury. The unit’s high vertical poles (on which the plates are loaded) allow the user to push the sled from a more upright position, while the low horizontal handles on the opposite end of the unit offer a greater challenge, putting the athlete in more of a mountain climbing position with greater friction on the ground. All four handles have a grip-friendly, matte black powdercoat finish.

  • 2Easy Storage and Portability

The updated Butcher design includes removable handles and feet, and it can be quickly set up for use again in a matter of seconds. For a solid 74 LB steel weight sled, the Butcher is also uniquely compact (42.25” x 47.25” footprint), making it easy to transport or stow out of the way when not in use.

  • 3Quality Rogue Construction

Like all Rogue products, the Butcher is held to a higher standard of manufacturing. Each unit is built in Columbus, Ohio, using 2x3” 11-gauge steel with bolt-on steel feet. This ultra-durable construction enables the Butcher to handle years of abuse on multiple surfaces, indoor/outdoor, with a total load capacity topping 500 LBS.

  • 4Part of a Growing Arsenal

Rogue’s American-made weight sleds and yokes have been put to use for years by CrossFitters, Strongman competitors, sprinters, football players, and a wide variety of other athletes. The Butcher is part of a top-tier, in-house Rogue collection that includes the Rogue Dog Sled, the Rogue "E" Sled, and our Y-Series Rogue Yokes.

  • 5Optional Ski & Extra Foot Plate Additions

Customers can choose to add a set of UHMW plastic skis to their order for an additional price. These 1/2” thick skis come with all required hardware and can dramatically reduce the risk of floor damage and scuffs as you train. The ski set, as well as optional replacement foot plate sets, can be ordered with the Butcher itself or a la carte via the order menu on this page.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One way ticket to pain If you think you might not use it enough like I did, I was wrong. I use it every other night for home use to give myself a smoke session and the recovery time required is minimal compared to many other workouts. IT'S WORTH IT. JUST BUY IT AND THANK ME LATER. The collapsible arms are great for storage. I only use the butcher on pavement and it works just fine. In just over the month I've owned thus product I've pushed it probably over 10 miles and the bottoms of the feet show no signs of destruction. Be careful when you store it after a workout because the friction will cause the feet to be extremely hot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice complement to a drag sled... I have had the Butcher for a couple of years. I use entirely on grass surfaces (lawn, park, soccer field). I don't go very heavy as the grass usually provides plenty of resistance with just a couple of plates and I use it primarily for cv conditioning. If the ground is wet, the Butcher becomes a Plough but on dry, short crabby grass like in most public fields, it works surprisingly well, does not tip over or forward and feels rock solid stable to push. I have a large drag sled too and probably use it 2:1 or 3:1 in favor of the sled over the Butcher as I find it better for pre-hab posterior chain work (upright sled walk, forward bent over leg drags), and rows, scarecrows, presses etc. and it is less impacted by terrain variability. However, the Butcher while arguably less versatile, does what it does exceedingly well because no matter what I do I cannot replicate the level of total cv distress with the sled as I can with the Butcher - so I use them interchangeably with farmer walks thrown in to round out my "yard workouts".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great addition to Wendler 5/3/1(hard conditioning) The only reason I didn't give all 5 stars is one of the high bar handles required a 3lb hammer to insert all the way. It was actually the base on one side that was a little too snug to insert without the hammer. I hope the more I use it I will be able to remove the handle with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so great! I have a titan sled, that I wore out the skids. Yes I did. Went to order some more but they were out of stock and could not tell me when they would restock. Soooooo, I went to look at the Rogue ( as vetted by Rippetoe and Wendler) gasped at the price, bit the bullet and bought one. It was a worthy purchase and I usually push it several times a week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its the best/worst! I got this because I have had some knee injuries and can't do much more than two miles of jogging for cardio unless I want to be limping for the next two days. It was disappointing because that used to be my standard cardio. Having bought this for a few weeks, I have been so happy with it! It definitely sucks to use, but in such a short time I can feel my cardiovascular effort being pushed to the max. My wife and I have been using it about 4 times a week as a way to finish off our workouts. It's a little difficult to transport since it's so big, but I just threw a couple wrenches in my car and disassemble it to transport. It takes less than two minutes to set up. In the time I've had it I've dropped 5 pounds without changing anything else. It's a great tool, especially if you can't or don't want to do long distance cardio.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rugged, tough, great value Great sled! Same kind they use in the gym but you don’t have to drive 15 minutes to use it!!! The only critique of the sled is that the side push poles are too nice if they were 2” more inside on both sides. especially too wide for teens or younger high schoolers.
