Rogue and Westside Barbell Joint Venture: All Westside Product Development will be handled by Rogue
Legendary strength coach and equipment developer Louie Simmons—the founder of Westside Barbell—has been working together with Rogue Fitness since 2009, manufacturing Westside power racks, barbells, sleds and hypers. Now, as part of a new joint venture between the two companies, Rogue will begin officially running Westside’s entire equipment line. Rogue’s product development team will work to expand this respected line and bring to life the many great ideas that Louie has accumulated over the years and going forward.
Rogue and Westside Barbell, both based in Columbus, Ohio, have already had a pivotal and rewarding working relationship for years, as Simmons has shared many of his innovations for use in Rogue’s own line of strength and conditioning equipment. Louie has always been reluctant to franchise the Westside name or sell his concepts to other manufacturers, but he sees Rogue as a like-minded company that will respect and appreciate the scientific principles he believes are imperative to effective strength training.
“I know this is going to be a very successful venture for both of us,” he says. “It’s going to be a perfect fit. I trust Rogue. I know them, I see what they do, and they’ve got great integrity. I wouldn’t deal with anyone else.”
