SML-1 ROGUE 70” MONSTER LITE SQUAT STAND

The Rogue SML-1 Monster Lite Squat Stand combines elements from the 70” stands of our standard S-Series and Monster line to create a versatile hybrid unit. The uprights are constructed from the same 3x3” 11-gauge steel tubing as the Monster SM-1, but with the 5/8” hardware and Westside hole spacing of the S-1.

Equally well suited to a small garage gym or large-scale weight training center, the SML-1 Squat Stand stands six feet tall and operates within an efficient 48"x49" footprint. It’s an American-built squat stand as dynamic and durable as many power racks, available at an affordable price.

Note: Due to no pull-up bar connecting the uprights of the SML-1, certain attachments such as the Monster Lite Matador and Plate Storage Posts are not recommended. Use of these accessories in conjunction with the SML-1 Squat Stand can cause severe injury to the user and damage the equipment.

Summary of Reviews

This sturdy and versatile squat stand is well-suited for home gyms with low ceilings. It is praised for its exceptional build quality, stability, and ability to handle heavy weights safely. The compact footprint and adjustable height make it suitable for small spaces, and the Westside hole spacing allows for precise positioning of the J-cups and spotter arms. While some users wish it came with additional accessories, the overall consensus is that this is a durable and functional piece of equipment that will serve well in a home gym setup.

Ultra Reliable and Sturdy
This rack is incredibly sturdy and worth the money to ensure you have safe reliable equipment. The J-Cups this comes with are very good as well. This rack will not fail with heavy weight either, it handles 500+ pounds like a dream. Due to the layout of my home, I put it inside and in front of the fireplace. The ceiling is 77 inches tall and the 70 inch rack fits very comfortably. I wanted a very minimal setup where I could do everything I needed within the rack, and I was able to do just that. Rogue's adjustable pull up bar fits on this rack (although not perfectly) and a trolley/pulley system can easily be attached to this 3x3 rack. Furthermore, a bench of my choice and a pair of dumbbells completed the entire home gym for me - all within one rack. Note: When squatting or benching, you will have to be careful how hard to slam the bar into the rack when unracking as the rack itself will shift slightly. This is normal but I thought I'd point it out - do not put your rack against the wall or you will risk damaging it.

Awesome Squat stand.
Super solid, perfect for benching and squatting. Best bang for your buck squat stand IMO. Spotter arms are definitely worth getting as well.

Perfect for Small Spaces
The squat rack was a perfect fit inside my one car garage. It's built to be very solid and stable when moving weight on and off the rack. I've used racks like this before that shake and rattle when racking weight, but this one is solid. It's not that difficult to move the rack into a position you want with just one person, which is nice in my small space. This is the perfect fit.

Pleased so far
So far very happy. Perfect size for garage gym. Big and sturdy enough to handle heavier weights. Doesn’t take up too much space. I did purchase the safety arm separately as they are not included. Would’ve like to see them included.

My SML-1 Squat stand set up!
Just came to share my SML-1 70" setup. For anyone short, has low ceiling or both, this is the way to go! Start with the squat stand. Add the hr2 conversion kit. I opted to keep the regular 17" cross members but if you want, they will make regular 3x3x17 monster lite cross members with holes.(If you want the pullup bar in the middle vs right above squat area. My family and I are short enough that above was not a problem. I then added the monster lite stabilizer kit. (1 43" crossmember in the back for stabilizing, comes with hardware.) Front I went with the fat pull up bar, mainly because it allowed me to mount it the highest with holes already on the uprights. Make sure to stop by hardware store for extra 5/8 4 1/2 grade 5 bolts, or ask for an extra set before checkout. I put the short weight storage plates on inside on back uprights so that I could add the 3 bar gun storage rack to the back. ( just get 6 3/8 4" bolts washers, lock washers and nuts.) Two long storage posts on bottom of rear uprights. Safety spotters arms. One rogue landmine, attached with a coupling nut and a couple extra washers from hardware store to front upright. This is a rock solid. Not attached to floor. Last but not least the matador. We use it on the front. Removing safety spotter arms and jcup. Bam ready for dips, ab workouts etc.. Thanks to rogue! No. more commercial gym.
