Sidestepping the boredom of constant repetition, Aerobic 40 includes 2 workouts per week that build you up on one machine (runner, rower, bike, etc.) as well as 2 workouts per week that mix breathing and bodyweight or light resistance work. This combo translates well to many types of fitness, and replaces drudgery with fun. The progressive nature of the program also builds on the previous week’s work, rather than programming random workouts for random results.
Functional Bodybuilding recommends pairing the Aerobic 40 program with its Pump 40 program, so users can split their lifting and conditioning into separate sessions.
