Finely machined pieces of steel
These are beautiful collars. Their design is well thought out and the craftsmanship is the best I have encountered. They are superior to the Eleiko powerlifting collars in multiple ways, but the tightening mechanism is where these shine. Unlike the Eleiko models, the tightening ranks are not designed to fall apart. They are robust and easy to operate. Well done, Rogue. You impress yet again. The spinning portion of the collar also works nicely, with a good design that allows some extra mechanical advantage when tightening them down.
I will also say that unless you are holding meets, or are a competitor in the barbell sports and want to train on the same equipment that you will use on the platform, that you do not need these collars. The resin collars that Rogue sells, or the Oso collars that Rogue also sells if you want a fancier model, will hold the weights on the bar just as well as these, but at a much lower cost. I bought these to use at the meets I put on. I haven't had them for long enough to comment on their longevity, but they are doing exactly what I need them to thus far.
If you train on a calibrated kilo set and you want the best, or are holding meets, Rogue did really well. A+.
